Hello! Welcome to the Unashamed Love Collective!
This is a journey of deepening our love for each other, ourselves, and God. It is a safe place for you to learn, grow, and build community regardless of your sexual orientation, gender identity, race, age, or faith. It’s a band of spiritual nomads that dialogue, discuss, support, and encourage one another in this thing called life. It’s a space where you can engage a lot or a little–it’s totally up to you. I’m so glad you’ve found us!
Here are a few details you should know:
*Registration for Season 4 will begin at 10am MST on February 1st. You are encouraged to sign-up for notifications regarding when registration goes live as space is limited.
*Season 4 of will officially launch on March 1st, 2022 and we will meet virtually on the last Monday of every month from 6:00pm-8:00pm MST (March-Aug) to discuss our book of the month. You could call us a book club, but we’ve quickly become so much more than that, which is why we’ve recently rebranded from the Unashamed Book Club to the Unashamed Love Collective. This allows us to expand our programming to offer even more ways of building community with one another! However, we are still a book club at our core and our time together on the last Monday of each month consists of small and large group discussions about our book of the month, followed by a live personal interview and Q&A with the author! Because people join us from many different time zones, the author interview and Q&A is always recorded and made available in our private group following each gathering for those who are unable to attend live.
*Each week discussion questions about our book of the month will be provided within the private Facebook group for members to engage. The level to which you engage is totally up to you. This has proven to be a beautiful and safe place to grow in community with one another around a variety of topics including faith deconstruction, LGBTQ affirmation, coming out, sex, relationships, healing from purity culture and abusive relationships, navigating difficult family dynamics, learning to love ourselves and our bodies, and more.
*With the recent transition from being exclusively a book club to becoming a collective we are also expanding our programming this season. This will include 2-3 special events per season where we will host an expert on a specific topic that is not tied to our book of the month (mental health, legislature change, intersectional identities, etc.) to grow in new ways together. Some of these events will include newly-released documentaries and interviews with the key people involved! We will also be offering ways to connect with other members in your local area, resource lists for additional opportunities to learn and engage, virtual mid-month hang-outs centered around building community, and the launch of our new member-exclusive swag boasting our new name and logo!
*This group is open to people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and faiths. Full of spiritual nomads (many of whom are deconstructing from an evangelical or conservative faith background), this group has become a safe haven for LGBTQIA+ people as well as allies, parents of LGBTQIA+ kids, faith leaders, and more. We have members from coast to coast and even a few around the globe. The age of participants ranges from early 20’s to late 70’s. So if you’re wondering if this is for you, the answer is: YES! All you need is a desire to listen, learn, and grow! (Note: There is a zero tolerance policy for homophobia/transphobia of any kind. This is meant to be a safe space for people to learn and explore who they are and what they believe. Anyone that cannot adhere to the guidelines will be removed.)
*There is a $30/month membership fee. Patreon supporters receive a 10% discount.
*The book of the month is not included in the monthly fee but links will be provided as to where they can be purchased. All books are also titles that are easily found at your local library. At each virtual gathering, one person’s name will be drawn to receive a free copy of next month’s book!
The Unashamed Love Collective is a beautifully diverse group of people that have stolen my heart. I love that this space creates opportunities for us to learn and build authentic community in ways that are both healthy and healing, regardless of how we identify or where we live.
